「IDEE」を創業し、国内外のデザイナーのプロデュースを中心に生活文化を広くビジネスとして展開。「東京デザイナーズブロック」などデザインをとりまく都市の状況をつくることに継続的に取り組んでいる。2005年流石創造集団（株）を設立。同年9月、廃校となった中学校校舎を再生した「世田谷ものづくり学校（IID）」内に新しい学びの場「スクーリング・パッド」を開校。2009年、自由に教え自由に学ぶ「自由大学」を開講。国際連合大学文化顧問。

Kurosaki is the founder of IDEE, a business being developed around the concept of cultural lifestyles that brings together designers from Japan and overseas. He has engaged continuously in the creation of urban landscapes through endeavors such as the Tokyo Designers Block project. In 2005, he founded Sasugasouzoushuudan Co., Ltd. In September of that year he opened Schooling Pad as a new place of learning within the Ikejiri Institute of Design (IID), itself built out of an abandoned junior high school. In 2009, he began conducting courses at Freedom University, which offers a free environment for teaching and learning. He is also a culture advisor at United Nations University.

武蔵野美術大学工芸工業デザイン学科卒業後、（株）東芝を経て、Design Studio S を設立。エレクトロニクス商品から日用雑貨まで幅広くデザインを手がける。主な製品に、コンビ「ベビーレーベルシリーズ」、無印良品「体にフィットするソファー」、象印「マホービン ZUTTO」、オムロン「電子体温計けんおんくん」、AU by KDDI「携帯電話 Sweets series・junior携帯」、最近プロデュースを手がけた新しいカプセルホテル「9h（ナインアワーズ）」が注目を集める。

After earning a degree from the Department of Industrial, Interior and Craft Design at Musashino Art University, Shibata spent several years at Toshiba before establishing Design Studio S, where her design work extends from electronics products to everyday sundries. Recent works include, the “Baby Label” series for Combi, "Body Fitting Sofa" by Muji, the “ZUTTO” series for Zojirushi Corporation, “Ken on-kun”, the electronic thermometer for Omron, and the “Sweets series, Junior” for mobile phone company AU by KDDI, while her latest project: the new 9h (nine hours) Capsule Hotel has been turning heads in the design world.

東京工業大学大学院修士課程修了後、伊東豊雄建築設計事務所に勤務。1995年NHK長野放送会館の設計を機に、加茂紀和子、竹内昌義、マニュエル・タルディッツらと「みかんぐみ」を共同設立。住宅、保育園、ライブハウスなどの建築設計から家具、プロダクト、インスタレーションまで幅広くデザインを手がける。主な作品に「北京建外SOHO低層商業棟」、「上原の家」、「ハンガートンネル」、「長野県伊那東小学校」など。近年ではアートを利用した地域再活性化プロジェクトも積極的に手がけている。

After earning a Master’s degree from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Sogabe spent several years at Toyo Ito & Associates Architects before establishing “MIKAN-GUMI” in collaboration with Kiwako Kamo, Masayoshi Takeuchi and Manuel Tardits. His design work stretches from architectural design, furniture and products to installations. Recent works include the JIAN WAI SOHO shopping center in Beijing, China, House in Uehara, the Hanger Tunnel and Ina-Higashi Primary School in Nagano, Japan. In recent years, Sogabe has been actively involved in a series of art-oriented regional revitalization projects.

1966年4月18日（発明の日）生まれ。九州芸術工科大学（現九州大学芸術工学部）画像設計学科卒業。個人TV放送局ユニット「SMTV」、コンサルティング会社勤務を経て現在に至る。作品には「視聴覚交換マシン」や「見ることは信じること」などの特殊コミュニケーション・ツール・シリーズ、ジェット・エンジン付きスケート・ボード「エアボード」やパーソナルフライトシステム「オープンスカイ」など機能をもった装置が多い。メールソフト「ポストペット」の 開発者でもあり、ポストペット関連のソフトウェア開発とディレクションを行なう会社「ペットワークス」の代表でもある。

Hachiya was born on April 18, 1966 (Invention Day). After graduating from the Faculty for Visual Communication Design, Kyushu Institute of Design, Hachiya has worked for several companies and SMTV, a private TV station unit. His works are highly functional and include the special communication tools such as Inter Dis-Communication Machine and Seeing Is Believing, the jet-powered skateboard AirBoard and the personal flight system OpenSky. Hachiya developed the PostPet e-mail software and is representative director of PetWORKs, the company that develops and manages related software tools for PostPet.
