BASIC INFORMATION

The International Poster Triennial in Toyama 2009 attracted 4,516 entries from 49 countries/regions. Among 409 selected posters, 100 works will be introduced in Tokyo.


"The International Poster Triennial in Toyama" (IPT) is an international open competition organized by the Museum of Modern Art, Toyama. For 2009, 409 posters were selected (262 for printed and published ones; and 147 for unpublished original ones) from 4,516 posters sent from 49 countries and regions. This travelling exhibition in Tokyo will introduce 100 selected works including awarded ones such as Grand Prix, Gold Prize, Silver Prize, Bronze Prize, and Yusaku Kamekura International Design Award; nominated ones; and juries' works. A poster is referred to as a mirror that reflects its era. These posters from around the world will present not onlly the excellence of design but also a variety of unique ideas and images with great individuality, and the creators' messages for the time.
