Think with Pokémon : Art & Environment Education 4

Tama Art University will hold the special exhibition "Thinking with Pokémon: Art and Environmental Education Exhibition 4" from Thursday, March 26 to Monday, April 6, 2026.

In this exhibition, students from the Product Design Program's Studio 3 will present works titled "POKÉMON UPCYCLE SCULPTURE" — Pokémon figures crafted from unwanted items, discarded materials, and various everyday objects found around them. Joining the Pokémon displayed in previous years, new additions including Gengar, Garchomp, Oshawott, and Aron will make their debut, bringing the total number of Pokémon on display to 91 — a collection that has grown with each successive edition.

The exhibition also turns its attention to environmental changes such as global warming, featuring works made from ocean plastic waste as part of the ongoing "POKÉMON UPCYCLE SCULPTURE" initiative, with an introduction to those activities as well.

During the exhibition period, the workshop "Make Your Very Own Poké Ball" — open to pairs of elementary school students and their guardians — is planned to return again this year. 【Please see this page for event details.】

Additionally, visitors to the venue will be able to create a "Smile Pikachu" using the yellow gloves from "Pokémon Pikapika-dan," a litter-picking activity organized by the Pokémon With You Foundation. Instructions are also available online.

This exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to discover and experience, through Pokémon, a diverse range of approaches to thinking about the environment around us — alongside the sensibility and creativity fostered by art education.
