BASIC INFORMATION
Tama Art University will hold its 117th Special Exhibition "Planting WELL-BEING: OUR TOOLS & METHODS FOR WELL-BEING" at Tokyo Midtown Design Hub from Monday, December 1, 2025.
The term "WELL-BEING," which has been gaining traction in various contexts in recent years, encompasses not only "physical and mental wellness" but also captures "a sense of living better." Design plays a crucial role in staying close to people's lives and giving form to this sensibility.
This exhibition introduces the activities of "TAMA DESIGN UNIVERSITY," an interdisciplinary research initiative that Tama Art University has been developing since 2024. Through this, we will explore the fundamental educational practice of "planting" seeds for the future and examine the shape of the future that emerges from this process. In the latter half of the exhibition, starting from the question "What are the wisdom and ingenuity for nurturing WELL-BEING?", we present a rich array of wisdom and creative approaches drawn from the lives and work of people active in diverse fields—including designers, artists, chefs, doctors, and fishermen.
We hope that through this exhibition, the "seeds" of WELL-BEING that each visitor discovers will inspire them to sense small sprouts emerging in their daily lives.
